Medicare Supplement Insurance
There are 11 Modernized Medicare Supplement plans (A,B,C,D,F,G,K,L,M,N) available, including 1 high deductible plan (F*). They are designed to limit the consumer's confusion when comparing coverage offered by different senior health insurance companies. Simply stated, a Plan F is a Plan F, a Plan G is a Plan G, and a Plan N is a Plan N, regardless of the insurance company. Although premiums vary greatly, the benefits are exactly the same.
- Medicare Supplements allow you to choose any doctor or hospital of your choosing. There are no
restrictions.
- Medicare Supplements cannot be cancelled by the insurance company for any reason except for failure
to pay the premium. They are Guaranteed Renewable for life.
- When you first become eligible for Medicare, there is a 6 month open enrollment period which
allows you to choose any Medicare Supplement from any insurance company and you can’t be turned down
regardless of any previous or current health issues.
- Many Medicare Supplements have no pre-existing waiting periods for health conditions you may
have. You are covered immediately upon acceptance.
- If you are replacing one Medicare Supplement for another, all pre-existing waiting periods are
waived regardless of the insurance company.
